This is an original song. It tells the harrowing tale of a man's 25 year journey, in which he sets off to sea, almost drowns but is saved by a suspicious whale, becomes an enslaved miner, and finally achieves glory after being eaten by worms. Enjoy! (Note: I've only recorded up to the encounter with the whale so far -- the rest will come later.)

Twenty-five years
Off to sea
Told my love
Not to wait for me

Ten years o’ storms
Carried me far
Wrecked my sails
And heaved me overboard

A giant whale
Tried to swallow me whole
But I offered one arm
To pay her toll

She filled my lungs
With three years’ good wind
Carried me far
To a place I’d never been

Accelerating apart
Each from each
Each from each
I washed up on a beach

Of a blood-dark isle
With men, the murderous kind
They bound my leg in chains
And threw me down the mines

Seven long years
Passed with pick and leash
Till I cut through foot and wall
And jumped into the breach

Tunneling through the rock
I came upon a lair
Giant toothy worms
Breathing sulfur air

They chewed off my head
Replaced it with a crown
Spent my final years
The Worm King underground

Accelerating apart
Each from each
Each from each
My body rests in peace
